SD254 Breadmaker Review
Together with the SD255 model, the Panasonic SD254 really set the standard for modern breadmakers. Receiving great reviews, it was once the number one choice breadmaker for those that could afford the slightly higher price tag.
With its new modern styling finished in white with cool-touch housing, this breadmaker is an ideal addition to your home. An angled, easy to use control panel offers simplicity of design ensuring ease of operation. It gives you the convenience of having fresh bread at anytime from fresh basic ingredients and can cater for particular dietary requirements e.g. gluten free, low salt, high fibre.
No Automatic Dispenser
The SD254 breadmaker has a raisin beep signal and countdown feature to prompt the user to add their ingredients and can also bake gluten free loaves, using a wide range of gluten free bread mixes on the gluten free program.
Bread in a Hurry
In addition, the SD254 breadmaker has a super rapid option to produce a white or brown loaf in only 1 hour 55 minutes and a sandwich option to bake softer bread with a thinner crust, ideal for making perfect sandwiches. This SD254 bread machine also features a versatile dough option to make dough from white, brown or wholemeal flour, for rolls, buns, croissants etc. and a French dough option for crusty French sticks.
More Preset Programs Than You Need?
In total, the SD254 has 16 preset programs to choose from including: basic & whole wheat bake, bake raisin, bake rapid, dough, dough raisin, French bake, French dough, Italian bake, sandwich bake, pizza dough and bake only.
Measuring up at 28cm x 37cm x 33cm, the SD254 breadmaker is larger than most alternatives. You should make sure you have enough work top space available before you consider buying one.
Many standard features are also included on the SD254 breadmaker, such as a bread size setting, choose between extra large (1.2kg), large (1kg) or medium (0.45kg). This breadmaker also lets you choose your preferred crust colour: light, medium or dark crusts are available.
A 240ml measuring cup and measuring spoon are also included, together with a selection of over 50 recipes for you to try.

Stunning product. I was sceptical, but this item is simply fantastic. If you get poor results with this, you can't be following the instructions properly. Foolproof, tasty bread, great investment.

takes a bit of geting used to in that the programmes are long but the wait is worth it, the basic white bread has a very light and crisp crust, the sandwich recipe is sooooo soft its almost criminal.
but the best is the wholemeal bread its so light and soft, my breadman pro produced a passible wholemeal but this is dare i say perfect.
I replaced a perfectly working machine with this one and felt a little silly doing so but the money was worth it ,the bread is so much better. i have had alot of breadmakers konk out on me after a year mostly because the spindle the paddle sits on gives out, but on this breadmaker its replacable without having to buy a whole new breadpan.
i have hope that this one will be the one that lasts ,ill update if it doesnt. the only thing i dont like is its so quiet i cant here when the machine does the last mix so i can take the paddle out thus no hole in the bread ,and the finish beep needs to be louder but thats a small complaint. probably the best machine ive bought BUY ONE!!.ps you dont need the other model sd255 unless you make ryebread or really feel the need for a nut dispenser! its the only difference.
